• Administer medications, including pain management and antibiotics, as prescribed by the neurosurgeon.
• Educate patients and their families about the neurosurgical procedure, recovery process, and post-operative care needs.
• Accurately document all patient care activities, assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic health record (EHR) promptly.
• Adhere to all safety protocols, infection control procedures, and regulatory guidelines to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
• Participate in unit-based training, seminars, and continuing education courses to enhance skills and knowledge.

Candidate requirements

• Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) preferred, associate's degree in nursing (ADN) or Diploma in Nursing from an accredited program required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification is required.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification is preferred.
• Certification in Neuroscience Nursing (CNRN) is preferred.
• 1-2 years of experience in neurosurgery or critical care nursing, with specific experience in neurosurgical settings preferred.
