As a Machinist at PACE Supply's Build Center in Fresno, CA, you’ll play a pivotal role in the manufacturing process, contributing to the production of precision components and ensuring adherence to specifications and meticulous quality standards.

Responsibilities
  • Operate a diverse array of machinery, including conventional lathes, mills, drill presses, band saws, cutting torches, and welding equipment.
  • Use and program manual and semi‑automated precision tools to ensure precise manufacturing processes.
  • Perform routine maintenance on machinery and conduct minor repairs to sustain operational efficiency.
  • Review technical documentation such as drawings, specifications, and build sheets for new pump builds, ensuring strict adherence to measurements and guidelines.
  • Conduct thorough inspections on completed products, identifying and rectifying any material defects or discrepancies.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, optimizing operational efficiency and ensuring a safe environment.
  • Diligently read and comprehend assembly instructions, facilitating accurate fabrication and assembly processes.
  • Communicate promptly when facing task in completions or encountered issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimal disruptions.
  • Adhere rigorously to safety guidelines, consistently wearing appropriate protective equipment to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Assemble components and tools with precise adjustments to dimensions, meeting specified requirements accurately.
  • Set up and operate machinery (e.g., lathes, drill presses, punch presses, bandsaws) for prototype fabrication.
  • Innovate and fabricate tools, dies, molds, jigs, and fixtures, contributing to process efficiency and innovation.
  • Conduct rework or alterations on component models or parts as needed to ensure the highest quality standards are met.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 year of warehouse and machinist experience.
  • Proficiency in operating various machinery (e.g., lathes, mills, drill presses, band saws).
  • Ability to use manual and semi‑automated precision tools effectively.
  • Basic mathematical knowledge.
  • Understanding of technical documentation and metal properties for machining.
  • Skilled in balancing impellers and quality inspection.
  • Steel‑toed boots and appropriate safety gear.
  • Ability to stand, crouch, and lift objects throughout your shift.
  • Commitment to maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Proficient in reading instructions, calculating figures, and paying attention to detail.
  • Adaptability to learn and follow workplace rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills for effective collaboration.

Physical Requirements
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
  • Ability to lift items that weigh up to 50 lbs. regularly.

  • Specific vision abilities required for this job include distance, peripheral, and depth vision.
Environmental Conditions
  • Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions.
