Aboutthis role
The role of a Sanitation Shift Lead with Wawona Frozen Foods will serve as a working team leader of a group of grounds personnel. Taking direction from the Sanitation Supervisor, the Sanitation Shift Lead will be responsible for all the sanitation duties, from cleaning, chemical preparation and levels to completion of shift sanitation documentation.
Responsibilities- Active participation in Wawona Frozen Foods Safety program to maintain a healthy and injury-free environment.
- Participate in training and company meetings to facilitate individual and company growth.
- Compliance with all GMP, HAACP, Food Safety, Food Defense, and SQF policies and procedures.
- Empowered to notify and/or act in response to any issues or concerns within the scope of work.
- Wear all the required personal protective equipment.
- Coordinate all the sanitation techs on their shift to ensure that all required lines receive cleaning and sanitation to be ready for the next use.
- Oversee the preparation of sanitation chemicals to make sure that they are at the proper level for use.
- Follow and complete the monthly master sanitation check list to ensure that all non-production areas are cleaned according to schedule.
- Train and coach new and seasonal sanitation employees as needed to make sure that we are properly following our SSOPs and all safety procedures.
- Assist the sanitation supervisor with scheduling employees as needed to ensure that all shifts have the coverage that they need.
- Required to wear all the correct PPE needed to perform the sanitation job functions and monitor and enforce this rule with all sanitation employees.
- Ensure that all sanitation and pest control standards within the SQF & other Food safety audit schemes are being followed and up to date to make sure that we are audit ready at all times.
- Ability to travel between local facilities to ensure that we have coverage across shifts as needed.
- Ability to perform other duties as assigned by department supervisor or manager.
- Minimum of High School Diploma or GED equivalency
- 2-3 years of work experience in Sanitation preferred.
- Strong listening and communication skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent time management skills
- A strong work ethic and a can-do attitude.
- Self-motivated and self-starter.
- Must be punctual and regular attendance is required.
- This position will work out of our Cedar or Alluvial location.
