Operator Washroom

Overview:
Performs work as part of a team in an industrial laundry facility. Responsible for the safe, expeditious, and accurate handling of merchandise into and/or out of the laundry facility.

• Check all machine safety devices before operating equipment and record/sign the appropriate equipment safety form. If a machine does not pass safety inspection, the operator will not operate the unit and will notify the supervisor.
• Load washers and/or dryers following proper procedures: retrieve sling from storage, position for loading, verify batch tickets to avoid mixing lots, stage similar batches together, and operate machines using the correct settings and formulas.
• Document activity: write ticket information on the washer/dryer form and record weights in the system as applicable.
• Unload washers and dryers safely, ensure proper moisture levels, re-dry if necessary, and place items with batch tickets in the correct storage area.
• Verify moisture retention, ensure loads are not overloaded, ensure slings are free of excessive water, and verify items are properly cooled.
• Identify and remove damaged slings from service; maintain a safe and clean work environment; observe best practices in all production activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Work is performed in a warehouse setting and is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions, extreme heat and cold, dust, and noise. Shift-based schedule with possible weekends. Overtime required as needed. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities. Requires the ability to move or maneuver slings or carriers weighing up to 220 lbs; ability to move, lift, carry, push, or pull product weighing up to 50 lbs;

requires bending, reaching, pulling, and pressing at shoulder level and below the waist; requires use of hands for grasping and manipulation; requires standing and walking for long periods of time.

The hourly rate Vestis reasonably expects to pay is $19.89, depending on circumstances including an applicant’s skills and qualifications, prior job experience, market data, and other relevant factors.
