Paralegal - Health Quality Enforcement Senior Legal Analyst
Under the supervision of a Supervising Deputy Attorney General and Senior Assistant Attorney General, the Health Quality Enforcement (HQE) section employs legal analysts to provide high‑level, varied, complex and analytical legal work in administrative, state and federal courts litigation. The analyst manages cases and issues on behalf of health‑care oversight agency clients, including disciplinary actions against health‑care professionals. The role includes providing paralegal assistance in judicial review proceedings of agencies’ disciplinary decisions and related state and federal civil litigation matters.
The analyst works collaboratively and professionally with members of the section, client staff, investigators, and the public; and responsibly and independently manages work under tight deadlines, public scrutiny, and pressure to produce high‑quality results in short time frames. Specific duties include opening and closing cases in Pro Law, assisting the Supervising Deputy Attorney General in case management, drafting correspondence and legal pleadings, assisting in interviews and litigation tasks, and analyzing, extracting, and processing complex documents related to statistical record keeping to comply with Business and Professions Code section 312.02.
