. We are recruiting for an exciting leadership opportunity as a Medical Reception Supervisor (MRS) at one of our new state‑of‑the‑art clinics.
Under the direction of the Health Center Manager, the MRS directs, supervises and coordinates staff and day‑to‑day operations for the assigned center to provide outstanding customer service, quality and cost‑effective care. The MRS manages the daily operations of the front‑office/reception area, responds to issues such as scheduling errors, patient flow bottlenecks, patient concerns, and employee relations issues, and forwards information to appropriate supervisors and the Health Center Manager as needed.
Works closely with the Health Center Manager and other clinic management team members to:
- Ensure staff adherence to customer service standards and quality of work.
- Proactively manage provider appointment schedules to ensure provider templates are correctly applied and ensure provider appointments are scheduled appropriately.
- Manage patient flow in real time to ensure patients are checked in and registered in a timely manner.
- Work with the Health Center Manager to monitor and evaluate staff performance and recommend promotions and disciplinary actions.
- Provide the Health Center Manager with ongoing feedback on staff performance and assist with completing performance evaluations.
- Provide appropriate coaching, training, counseling and staff development in association with the Health Center Manager.
- Participate in the interview process and selection of new personnel with the Health Center Manager for Front Office and Medical Records positions.
- Demonstrate exemplary customer service in both verbal and written encounters.
- Plan and evaluate working assignments to ensure adequate coverage to provide quality care.
- Forward all notification (formal and informal) of site audits/visits (i.e., OSHA, Blue Cross, etc.) to the Health Center Manager who will coordinate between clinical and operations to ensure readiness for site audits/visits.
- Maintain direct communication with the Health Center Manager, providing updates on operational issues, process improvement suggestions and other concerns.
- Under the direction of the QA Coordinator, participate in process improvement and data collection as necessary.
- Ensure data entry corrections/completion is resolved in a timely manner.
- Monitor accuracy of cash/copay collections, payment entry, and the daily site deposit.
- Provide coverage in health center positions as necessary, including Health Care Associate and Medical Records positions.
- Interface with other departments to ensure operational effectiveness.
- Be able to multi‑task and manage assigned projects as directed by the Health Center Manager.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Health Center Manager.
- High School diploma or equivalent is required.
- Associate’s Degree in Business Administration, Health Care Administration, or a related field is preferred. Experience in lieu of degree may be applied for this position.
- 5–8 years of experience in management or supervisory position in a healthcare or ambulatory care setting, preferred.
- Bilingual Preferred (English/Spanish) but not required.
- Able to quickly build and maintain rapport with patients and providers of differing backgrounds; team player.

- Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds and push up to 50 pounds (on wheels).
- Must be able to hear staff on the phone and those who are served in‑person, and speak clearly in order to communicate information to patients and staff.
- Must be able to read memos, computer screens, personnel forms and clinical and administrative documents.
- Must have high manual dexterity.
- Must be able to reach above shoulder level to work, must be able to bend, squat and sit, stand, stoop, crouch, reach, kneel, twist/turn.
The pay range for this Exempt position starts at $70,347.08 a year. Our salary ranges are dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience.
