Bilingual Pharmacy Technician

Job Description
Grizzly Pharmacy is looking to employ a bilingual Pharmacy Technician to become part of our team. We have a heavy patient base of English and Spanish speakers and are looking to bridge that communication gap with a Pharmacy Technician who is fluent in both. As a Grizzly Pharmacy technician you will assist in the preparation of medications under the direction of a pharmacist.

This will include basic Pharmacy Technician tasks as well as learning new skills at an Independent Pharmacy.

• Prepare medication and other healthcare products for patients
• Measure dosage of medications, according to prescription orders; perform calculations for medication dosages
• Process prescriptions using computer software
• Label and record dosage information; package and label medications appropriately
• Monitor storage and inventory of medications and supplies
• Provide excellent customer service to patients and healthcare professionals
• Log pharmaceutical inventory; maintain inventory and order supplies as needed
• Have extensive pharmaceutical law knowledge for both State and Government agencies
• Communicate precisely with other team members
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems with insurance plans
• Enter prescription information into the computer system accurately
• Answer phone calls and address inquiries from patients and healthcare professionals
• Follow all relevant safety protocols, including aseptic technique, when handling medications
• Knowledge of medication administration routes, including oral, injectable, and inhalation methods
• Understanding of critical care medications and their proper handling and storage

• Previous experience in pharmacy or be a newly licensed pharmacy technician
• Able to speak English and another language fluently
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Possess a valid CA Pharmacy Technician License
• Be able to multi-task
• Strong organizational skills
• Familiarity with medical terminology and pharmacy operations
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, such as a hospital or acute care setting
