Position SummaryThe Inventory Specialist plays a key role in preparing equipment and assets for auction by tracking inventory, maintaining accurate records and ensuring items are properly documented and organized. This position works closely with operations, sales and yard teams to support auction preparation and daily yard activities.
This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys working both outdoors and in a team-driven operational environment.
Key Responsibilities- Receive incoming equipment, vehicles and assets and verify accuracy against intake documentation
- Assign inventory and lot numbers and apply identification tags
- Enter and maintain accurate inventory records in auction management systems
- Photograph equipment and upload photos, descriptions and condition notes into auction software
- Perform routine yard walks and inventory audits to confirm asset location and condition
- Coordinate movement and staging of equipment to support auction preparation
- Assist with catalog preparation and lot organization for auction events
- Identify and report discrepancies, missing items or damaged equipment
- Maintain organized records of titles and ownership documents when applicable
- Support load-in and load-out activities during auction events
- Maintain clean and organized work areas
- Follow all company safety policies and safe work practices
- Accurately record all hours worked using the company timekeeping system
- Perform other duties as assigned to support auction operations
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift or move items up to 50 pounds
- Ability to safely climb on and off equipment when needed
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel and reach regularly
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
This role frequently works outdoors in auction yards, warehouses and equipment storage areas. Employees may be exposed to dust, noise, moving machinery, vehicle traffic and changing weather conditions. Personal protective equipment may be required.
Workplace Expectations- This is a non-exempt hourly position eligible for overtime in accordance with applicable wage and hour laws
- Employees must accurately record all time worked and may not work off the clock
- Meal and rest periods are provided in accordance with applicable state law based on work location
- Employees are expected to follow all safety rules and report hazards or injuries immediately
