Instructional Student Assistant (ISA) for the
College of Health and Human Services
Position OverviewThe Department of Kinesiology is seeking Instructional Student Assistant (ISA) applicants.
The department reserves the right to choose the most qualified candidate for each position and to assign Instructional Student Assistant to the courses that are appropriate for the department program and curriculum in any given semester. Due to staff and curriculum changes, courses offered may vary, and no guarantee of employment from semester to semester can be made.
Anticipated Appointment Dates- Fall 2025:
August 18, 2025 – December 22, 2025 - Spring 2026:
January 15, 2026 – May 22, 2026
0-20 hours per week.
Job Duties- Read and evaluate student papers
- Evaluate student assignments
- Maintain/Submit students records (., grades)
- Proctor examinations
- Manage Canvas
- Assist Graduate Program Coordinator with outreach, communications, etc. related to student recruitment and acceptance
- Assist Human Performance Lab Director and/or Exercise Science faculty with activities and equipment specific to the Human Performance Lab
- Admission to the Graduate Program in the Department of Kinesiology, in good academic standing.
- Minimum GPA 3.0
- Must have completed course in which opening exists
- Enrollment in at least 6-units for the semester or in two courses toward the degree.
- Demonstrated, satisfactory progress towards the degree.
- Demonstrated commitment to excellence built on merit, talent, diversity, accessibility, and equal opportunity for all.
- Communication skills appropriate to the instructional setting
- Ability and willingness to work with computers including common word-processing software, and computer and Internet-based language teaching technology.
- Experience in a closely-related discipline

- Salary:
Each department has different salary scales. Please check with your department for your Base Salary. The Salary range for Instructional Student Assistants starts at $16.20 per an hour. - Assignments:
Assignments are made by Department Chair or Program Coordinator after consultation with the candidate. - Duties Form:
Per the , a Duties Form (see Appendix E of the CBA) will be completed between the Department and Academic Student Employee. This form substantiates the jobs included for the department Instructional Student Assistant position. - Instructional Student Assistant positions are for matriculated students at Fresno State.
- Students are limited to 20-hours of part-time work on campus.
