Instructional Student Assistant (ISA) for the College of Science and Mathematics Position Overview
The Department of Physics is seeking Instructional Student Assistant applicants to help set up and tear down lab demos, assist faculty in the demo room, and properly maintain inventory. The department reserves the right to choose the most qualified candidate for each position and to assign Instructional Student Assistant to the courses that are appropriate for the department program and curriculum in any given semester.
Due to staff and curriculum changes, courses offered may vary, and no guarantee of employment from semester to semester can be made.
Fall 2025:
August 18, 2025 - December 22, 2025
Spring 2026:
January 15, 2026 - May 22, 2026
0-20 hours per week.
Job Duties- Set up and tear down demos
- Assist faculty members with supplies and equipment
- Properly maintain and store equipment/supplies
- Minimum GPA 3.0
- Demonstrated commitment to working effectively with faculty, staff and students from diverse ethnic, cultural and socioeconomic background.
- Undergraduate degree in physics or related field.

Additional Information- Evaluations: ISA's may be evaluated per department policy.
- Salary:
Each department has different salary scales. The salary range for Instructional Student Assistants starts at $17.86 per hour. - Assignments:
Assignments are made by Department Chair or Program Coordinator after consultation with the candidate. - Duties Form: A Duties Form will be completed between the Department and Academic Student Employee.
- Instructional Student Assistant positions are for matriculated students at Fresno State.
- Students are limited to 20 hours of part-time work on campus.
