Temporary Faculty Pool - Lecturer in Dance
Department and Position SummaryThe department seeks qualified candidates to teach undergraduate courses or other classes as needed to fulfill educational goals of current students. This is a temporary, non-tenure-track lecturer position in Dance for Spring 2026.
EducationMaster’s degree in Dance or closely related field from an accredited institution or foreign equivalent.
Responsibilities- Teach assigned undergraduate courses (e.g., Ballet Technique, Directing the Contemporary Dance Ensemble) and other classes as needed.
- Adhere to university and system-wide policies as directed per Academic Policy Manual 306, paragraph 2.
- Prepare, deliver, conduct, proctor, and grade lectures, office hours, assignments, quizzes, projects, and exams as appropriate.
- Offer classes as scheduled and in the mode listed in the schedule of classes (asynchronous, synchronous, in-person, or hybrid).
Appointment is contingent upon budget and enrollment and subject to the Order of Work provisions in the CSU and California Faculty Association collective bargaining agreement. Appointees must demonstrate eligibility to work in the United States.
CompensationCompensation is commensurate with qualifications and experience within the CSU salary schedule. The salary range for temporary faculty with a Master’s degree is $5,507–$6,677 per month (full-time 15 WTUs). Actual salary depends on WTUs assigned per term.
Anticipated SemesterThe appointment is for one semester (Spring 2026) to cover a sabbatical replacement. Part-time, non-tenure-track and contingent on student enrollment and funding. Specific appointment:

Required: Master’s degree in Dance or closely related field.
- Experience demonstrating a commitment to excellence, diversity, accessibility, and equal opportunity.
Preferred:
- Commitment to teaching excellence at the undergraduate level, evidenced by prior teaching experiences and evaluations.
- Successful undergraduate teaching experience.
