Economics Instructor (Part-Time Faculty Pool) at Fresno City College. Responsibilities- Teach a part-time schedule of Introductory Economics courses as assigned.
- Use a variety of pedagogies and instructional delivery systems, including technology, for face-to-face, online, and/or hybrid formats.
- Communicate effectively with students, faculty and staff.
- Use effective teaching methods appropriate to the subject matter and adhere to institutionally approved curriculum outlines of record.
- Evaluate student progress through tests, examinations, written assignments, oral responses, etc., in keeping with course objectives.
- Provide course syllabi to students.
- Maintain classroom records in accordance with District Policy.
- Submit required student grading and evaluation reports in a timely manner.
- Teach assignments in a variety of instructional settings and times, including classes as needed.
- Fulfill all duties and responsibilities of instructors as required by Administrative Regulation 7122.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Evidence of responsiveness to and understanding of the diverse backgrounds of community college students and equity-minded practice in the classroom.
- Master’s in economics; or
- Bachelor’s in economics and Master’s in business, business administration, business management, business education, finance or political science; or
- A valid California Community College Credential; or
- The equivalent education and/or experience (requires an equivalency).

- Experience and skill incorporating diversity, equity, and inclusion into responsibilities.
- Recent experience teaching diverse student populations and understanding historical patterns of exclusion in higher education.
- Willingness to examine and improve instructional practices to engage racially minoritized students.
- Experience teaching introductory economics courses.
- Experience working with students of various cultural, gender, age, socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds, including students with disabilities.
- Experience with underrepresented student populations and supporting students across sociocultural and socioeconomic diversities.
- Experience facilitating multicultural and cross-cultural communication with sensitivity to diverse backgrounds.
- Experience with, and sensitivity to, under-prepared and high-need students at the community college.
- Ability to collaborate with faculty and staff to enhance instruction and student success.
- Ability to work with computers and other technologies used in instruction and student support.
- Effective communication with students and staff.
- Knowledge of current assessment methods and materials.
- Knowledge of the community college mission and goals.
- Newly hired part-time faculty will be placed on step one of the Part-Time Faculty Salary Schedule.
- Salary classification placements are based on education and experience as outlined in the Part-Time Faculty Salary Classifications.
- Sick leave accrual is based on assignment hours.
