Essential Functions

Clovis Community College values faculty who support a diverse student body and prioritize equity‑mindful leadership. The successful candidate will serve students from a wide range of cultural, socioeconomic, and academic backgrounds, collaborating with faculty, staff, and community partners to close equity gaps.

Responsibilities
  • Teach all Agriculture Department courses, including Agriculture Technical Literacy, Agricultural Systems, Agricultural Safety, Equipment Operation, Configuration & Troubleshooting, and Workplace Effectiveness.
  • Enhance curriculum and incorporate cutting‑edge technology for optimal classroom delivery.
  • Utilize online, hybrid, and competency‑based education methodologies to prepare students for their career goals.
  • Recruit, advise, and support students.
  • Stay current in the discipline and engage in professional development.
  • Participate on departmental, division, and faculty committees and attend meetings and workshops.
  • Contribute to program review, student learning outcome development, and assessment to improve student learning.
  • Teach in various instructional settings and times, including evening, weekend, online, off‑campus, and large‑group classes as needed.
  • Fulfilling all duties required by Administrative Regulation 7122 and other faculty responsibilities.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications

Evidence of responsiveness to diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds in community college students.

  • Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of full‑time equivalent professional experience; or
  • Associate degree and six (6) years of full‑time equivalent professional experience; or
  • A valid California Community College Credential; or
  • Equivalent education and/or experience (requires equivalency.)
Desirable Qualifications
  • Experience integrating diversity, equity, and inclusion into all responsibilities.
  • Recent experience working with racially minoritized students and an understanding of historical exclusion patterns in higher education.
  • Experience supporting students of varied cultural, gender, age, socioeconomic, and ethnic backgrounds, including those with disabilities.
  • Willingness to examine and improve instructional practices to better engage racially minoritized students.
  • Professional competency in teaching agriculture systems.
  • Ability to use current educational technology methods and tools.
  • Demonstrated communication skills with students and staff.
  • Computer proficiency for supporting high‑quality instruction.
  • Bilingual in Spanish (preferred).
  • Professional organization membership (preferred).
  • Knowledge of assessment methods and materials.
  • Knowledge of the community college mission and goals.
Conditions of Employment

178 duty days per year. Starting annual salary ranges from $71,054 to $106,970 based on education and experience. A doctoral stipend of $2,419 is available. Fringe benefits include medical, dental, vision coverage, life insurance, and participation in the California State Teacher’s Retirement System (CalSTRS).

Selection Procedure

Applications are screened by Human Resources for completeness and minimum qualifications. Candidates meeting the minimum will be reviewed by a selection advisory committee based on both minimum and desirable qualifications. Interview levels are scheduled as follows: first level interview week of 03/02/2026; final interview week of 03/11/2026. Selected candidates will be forwarded for final interviews by the Vice President and College President, and a hiring recommendation will be made to the Board of Trustees for final approval.
