The Department of Mechanical Engineering is seeking Instructional Student Assistant (ISA) applicants. The department reserves the right to choose the most qualified candidate for each position and to assign the ISA to courses appropriate for the program and curriculum. Employment is subject to staff and curriculum changes; no guarantee of semester‑to‑semester employment can be made.
Anticipated Appointment DatesThis position is open until filled. If you have applied and no other positions are available, you will be notified.
- Fall 2025:
August 18, 2025 – December 22, 2025 - Spring 2026:
January 15, 2026 – May 22, 2026
Hours
: 0–20 hours per week.
- Maintain and submit student records/grades
- Evaluate student assignments
- Attend class lectures
- Current enrollment in a minimum of 6 units

The review of applications will begin immediately and may continue through the next semester. For full consideration, the application and all required materials must be submitted by July 30, 2025. The following documents are required:
- Curriculum Vitae (CV) or résumé – your contact information, education, employment history, skills, internships, awards, volunteer service, training, and any other relevant experience.
- Current unofficial transcripts from all undergraduate and graduate institutions attended. If you have transcripts from more than one institution, combine them into one document.
- List of three references – provide the first name, last name, type of reference, organization, position title, phone number, and e‑mail address for each referrer.
- Resume and cover letter (optional but recommended) to highlight relevant coursework and teaching experience.
Finalists may be asked for an interview.
Additional Information- Salary – start at $17.86 per hour, subject to department scale.
- Assignments – made by the Department Chair or Program Coordinator after consultation with the candidate.
- Instructional Student Assistants must be matriculated students at Fresno State and are limited to 20 hours of part‑time work on campus.
