The Communication program at Fresno State offers a blend of humanistic and scientific instruction focused on developing communication skills essential for teaching, business, law, public service, politics, and management. Students explore the full range of human communication.
Position SummaryThe department seeks qualified candidates to teach undergraduate courses. Temporary faculty members are responsible for adherence to university and system-wide policies and for preparing, delivering, conducting, proctoring, and grading classes as scheduled.
Instructor Responsibilities- Prepare and deliver course content, office hours, assignments, quizzes, projects, midterm and final exams.
Appointments are contingent upon budget and enrollment. Faculty eligibility to work in the U.S. is required.
CompensationSalary is commensurate with qualifications and experience within the CSU salary schedule (Class Code 2358). The range for temporary faculty with a master’s degree is $5,507–$6,677 per month for a full-time (15 WTUs) schedule.
Anticipated SemesterThe pool is continuously open; positions are filled as needed. Applicants may need to be available to begin teaching on short notice. Pool will remain for two academic terms.
Required Qualifications- A Master’s degree in Communications or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
- Commitment to undergraduate teaching excellence demonstrated through prior teaching experiences and evaluations.
- Successful undergraduate teaching experience.
