The department seeks qualified candidates to teach undergraduate courses such as:
- Physics 2A
- Physics 2B
- Physics 4A
- Physics 4B
- PSCI 21
- or other classes as needed
Temporary faculty members are responsible for adhering to and implementing university and system-wide policies per the Academic Policy Manual 306. Instructors will prepare, deliver, conduct, proctor, and grade lectures, office hours, assignments, quizzes, projects, and exams, ensuring all classes are offered and meet as scheduled in the assigned modality (asynchronous, synchronous, in-person, or hybrid).
Conditional AppointmentAppointment is contingent upon budget, enrollment consideration, and order of assignment provisions. Eligibility to work in the United States is required. This pool is part-time and may require availability to start teaching on short notice.
CompensationSalary commensurate with qualifications and experience within CSU salary range for class code 2358. For a Master’s degree: $5,507–$6,677/month (full time, 15 WTUs). Salary adjusted per WTUs assigned.
Anticipated SemesterPositions available continuously; typical semesters:
Fall 2025 (August 18–December 22), Spring 2026 (January 15–May 22). Pool remains for two terms; reapplication required thereafter.
- Master’s degree in Physics or a related field.
- Demonstrated commitment to excellence, diversity, and equal opportunity.
- Commitment to teaching excellence at undergraduate level, evidenced by prior teaching experience and evaluations.
- Successful undergraduate teaching experience.
