Position: Lead Instructor (Winter Program)

The Lead Instructor plays a vital role in creating an engaging, safe, and supportive learning environment for students in our Winter Program. Lead Instructors guide hands-on, project-based learning activities designed to build creativity, teamwork, and confidence. Working collaboratively with aides and site staff, this position ensures that every student experiences high-quality instruction aligned with the Cesar Chavez Foundation’s Core Values and mission.

Program dates are January 5th
- January 9th. 5 hours per day. The sessions will be held at Fresno State University.

Two AM Positions Available: 7:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., Winter Session January 5th
- January 9th

Two PM Positions Available: 12:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m., Winter Session January 5th
- January 9th

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintain all ethical practices of the Cesar Chavez Foundation by serving the community with integrity, dignity, and professionalism.
  • Implement the Education Fund’s daily schedule, lesson plans, and enrichment curriculum.
  • Lead engaging Warm-Up, Maker, and Cool-Down activities for assigned student cohorts.
  • Supervise meals and snacks, classroom sessions, and transitions with accurate headcounts.
  • Collaborate with aides to distribute meals, materials, and coordinate bathroom breaks.
  • Create an inclusive environment that promotes student participation and growth.
  • Maintain classroom organization, ensure cleanup, and document daily attendance.
  • Communicate regularly with the Site Coordinator regarding program needs and updates.
  • 25 hours for the week of programming, additional hours for training, set-up, and tear down will be allocated.
  • Additional duties may be assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • B.A. degree in Education, Child Development, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of facilitating youth programs or working with students.
  • Experience leading hands-on, project-based, or enrichment learning.
  • Experience managing small groups of K–8 students.
  • Knowledge of Google Workspace and basic technology tools.
QUALIFICATIONS AND DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS

  • Culturally responsive and inclusive teaching approach.
  • Fingerprints, CPR, and TB clearance are required before assignment.
  • Reliable, punctual, and adaptable.
  • Personifies the social justice ideals espoused by Cesar Chavez and embodies the “Sí Se Puede!” attitude.
COMPENSATION RANGE

Hourly Rate: $25.00 – $35.00 per hour based on experience (Temporary, Part-Time)
