Temporary Faculty Pool - Lecturer in Finance
The Department of Finance, Real Estate and Business Law offers three options within the Bachelor of Science in the Business Administration degree program: (1) Finance, (2) International Business, and (3) Real Estate and Urban Land Economics. The Department is home to the award-winning Student-Managed Investment Funds Program that manages a $6.5 million endowment fund.
The department seeks qualified candidate(s) to teach undergraduate courses such as:
- FIN 120 – Principles of Finance
- FIN 122 – Financial Institutions and Markets
- Other classes as needed to meet educational goals
As an AACSB-accredited institution, the Craig School of Business (CSB) expects faculty to hold and maintain qualifications in one of the following categories: SA (Scholarly Academic), PA (Practice Academics), SP (Scholarly Practitioners), or IP (Instructional Practitioners).
Instructor Responsibility: Temporary faculty are responsible for adhering to university and system-wide policies, preparing and delivering lectures, conducting proctoring and grading, and maintaining classes throughout the semester in the mode assigned (asynchronous, synchronous, in-person, or hybrid).
Conditional Appointment: Appointment is contingent upon budget, enrollment, and collective bargaining agreement provisions, including the "Order of Work" for course assignment.
Applicants must demonstrate eligibility to work in the U.S. (Fresno State does not sponsor visas).
Compensation: Salary is based on qualifications and experience within the CSU salary schedule. For example, with a Master's degree, the salary range is approximately $5,507–$6,677 per month for full-time teaching (15 WTUs), adjusted by the actual WTUs assigned.
Anticipated Semester: The pool is open continuously; positions are filled based on need, enrollment, and funding, often on short notice. The pool remains active for two academic terms, requiring reapplication for continued eligibility.
Fall 2025:
August 18 – December 22, 2025;
Spring 2026:
January 15 – May 22, 2026.
Required Qualifications: Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field from an accredited institution; at least 3 years of professional experience, or recent scholarly activity, or a doctorate within 5 years.
Preferred Qualifications: Undergraduate teaching experience, relevant industry experience, certifications such as CFA, CFP, or FP&A, and a commitment to teaching excellence.
