25-26 AY Temporary Faculty Pool (Lecturer) – Recreation Administration at California State University, Fresno. The department invites qualified applicants to join the temporary pool to teach undergraduate courses in Recreation, Parks and Tourism.
Position SummaryThe successful applicant may teach recreation, tourism, outdoor recreation, special events, sport and entertainment facility management courses. The department seeks qualified candidate(s) to teach undergraduate courses such as: RA 117 (Special Events and Tourism) or RA 131 (Foundations of Special Events and Tourism), or other classes identified as needed to fulfill educational goals of current students.
Courses and Responsibilities- Teach undergraduate courses in recreation, parks and tourism as assigned
- Prepare, deliver, conduct, proctor, and grade lectures; provide office hours, assign and evaluate coursework, quizzes, projects, and exams
- Offer all classes as scheduled for the term in the mode listed (asynchronous, synchronous, in-person, or hybrid)
Temporary faculty members must adhere to university and system-wide policies per Academic Policy Manual 306, paragraph
2. Responsibilities include preparation, delivery, and assessment of coursework in accordance with the schedule of classes.
Appointments are contingent upon budget and enrollment considerations and subject to the Order of Work provisions in the CSU-California Faculty Association collective bargaining agreement. Appointees must demonstrate eligibility to work in the United States. Fresno State is not a sponsoring agency for Temporary Faculty positions.
CompensationCommensurate with qualifications and experience within salary range placement. For Temporary Faculty with a Master’s degree, the salary range is $5,507–$6,677 per month (full-time for 15 WTUs). Starting salaries are typically at or near the minimum of the range; actual salary depends on WTUs assigned per term.
Anticipated SemesterThe temporary faculty pool remains open and positions are filled as needed. It is a pool of part-time lecturers drawn as necessary. The number of positions varies and appointments are often made just before the term start. The pool remains in place for two academic terms; reapplication is required to remain beyond that period.
Required Qualifications- Master’s degree in Recreation and Parks Administration or a closely related field from an accredited institution or foreign equivalent
- Demonstrated commitment to excellence, merit, diversity, accessibility, and equal opportunity
- PhD/EdD in Recreation, Parks and Tourism
- Commitment to undergraduate teaching excellence demonstrated through prior teaching and evaluations or other evidence
- Successful undergraduate teaching experience
