Position Overview:
Valley Women s Healthcare Medical Center in Fresno, California, is seeking a highly qualified, Board Certified Obstetrics and Gynecology Physician to join as a full-time Hospitalist. This direct-hire opportunity is ideal for physicians committed to delivering comprehensive inpatient obstetric care within a collaborative, state-of-the-art environment. You will have the chance to work in a Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), utilizing advanced EPIC electronic health records, while partnering with a multidisciplinary team dedicated to achieving excellent patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert inpatient obstetrical care at a busy community hospital with a Level II NICU.
- Manage approximately 13-14 patients daily across inpatient, outpatient, rounding, and clinical settings.
- Perform approximately 4-5 deliveries per 24-hour shift, predominantly vaginal deliveries with approximately 25% C-sections.
- Ensure safe and effective management of labor, delivery, and postpartum care.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EPIC EMR system.
- Cover five to six 24-hour shifts per month, scheduled from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. with no on-call responsibilities outside scheduled shifts.
- Participate in holiday coverage and enjoy holiday pay premiums.
- Engage in continuous quality improvement and patient safety initiatives within the hospital setting.
- Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
- Valid and active medical license in California or in process of obtaining licensure.
- Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and DEA license.
- Minimum of one to five years of relevant practice experience preferred; recent graduates are discouraged unless fully board certified.
- Delivery experience mandatory, with demonstrated proficiency in vaginal and C-section deliveries.
- Candidates with a history of malpractice or licensing issues will be reviewed individually.
- COVID-19 vaccination is required for employment as per facility policy.
- This position is open to candidates requiring visa sponsorship (H1B, J1) and those interested in working as 1099 independent contractors.
- Candidates seeking to commute more than 30 minutes or combine with another position are discouraged.
