VACCHCS Medicine Service/UCSF – Section Chief, Hematology/Oncology. California

The position is a full-time faculty member as Section Chief in Hematology/Oncology with a faculty appointment at UCSF; requirements for a faculty appointment must be met at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor rank. Teaching and supervising fellows in hematology and oncology as well as residents in Internal Medicine will be a component of this position.

The goal is to provide veteran-centered care in an integrated environment that supports learning and continuous improvement.

• Provide leadership as Section Chief of Hematology and Oncology, with administrative functions and oversight of clinical and research growth of the section.
• Deliver high-quality patient care in hematology and oncology for veterans, in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
• Teach and supervise fellows in hematology/oncology and residents in Internal Medicine.
• Engage in program development, quality improvement, and academic activities within VACCHCS and UCSF Fresno.

• Medical degree (MD, DO or equivalent) and eligibility to obtain a US medical license.
• Completed residency in Internal Medicine and completed a fellowship in Hematology/Oncology.
• Board certified in Internal Medicine and board certified or board eligible in Hematology and Medical Oncology.
• Eligible for appointment at the VA.

• Fresno is located 3 hours south of San Francisco and 2 hours from 3 national parks, including Yosemite; access to year-round recreation.
• For positions exclusively funded by the affiliate organization:
  Fresno VACCHCS provided a reasonable salary estimate for this position of $325,000-$365,000.
