Gurnick Academy is a leading Bay Area private healthcare college offering an extensive variety of Nursing, Allied healthcare, and Imaging programs.
We are currently seeking an Administrative Assistant – Department of Nursing for Gurnick Academy. This is a ground position working at the Gurnick Academy Fresno, CA Campus
Job Type: Full-time
Hourly Range: $25.00-$28.00
Basic Function
The Administrative Assistant position works under the supervision of the Dean of Nursing providing administrative assistance for the essential duties of the Department of Nursing requirements and documentation for the boards of nursing and accrediting agencies. The Administrative Assistant role will require knowledge of all nursing programs and accrediting agencies to best support the needs of the department.
The job duties of the Administrative Assistant position:
Department Related Functions:
- Assists the Dean of Nursing in the general operation and maintenance of nursing programs.
- Assists in the maintenance of systems and guidelines by analyzing the department’s operating practices, recordkeeping systems, and documents for the nursing programs.
- Maintains student, faculty, continuing board approval, accreditation, and other Department of Nursing records deemed necessary for the day-to-day academic operation within the state regulation and national accreditation standards.
- Assists with maintaining reporting procedures to include excel files and databases regarding nursing program statistics, confidential student information including GPA, course grades, exit exam and course specialty scores, attrition & retention reports, and statistical research. Prepares and generates related reports in a timely manner as required by the Dean of Nursing.
- Types and edits reports, letters, syllabi, exams, calendars, and other required documents.
- Assists, organizes and coordinates the Advisory Board for the nursing department.
- Creates reports and other materials for projects and promotes the Department of Nursing.
- Schedules and coordinates Department of Nursing meetings, ceremonies, conferences, and travel arrangements for the Dean of Nursing and nursing program leadership.
- Prepares and generates meeting minutes to Dean for final approval.
- Assists in maintaining excel files regarding Department of Nursing’s purchases.
- Monitors record keeping of student ambassador meeting minutes.
- Maintains record of all Nursing Monthly Faculty Meeting minutes.
- Assists with requesting the Teaching Adult Learners course for faculty.
- Assists in facilitating and maintaining the updates for student Attrition/Retention tracking.
- Assists with processing the Nursing Board Licensure applications.
- In collaboration with the executive assistant, facilitate the processing of the VN faculty applications required by the BVNPT and maintain the approved VN faculty tracker.
- In collaboration with the executive assistant, facilitate the processing of the VN facility applications required by the BVNPT and maintain the approved VN facility tracker.
- Performs additional duties as deemed necessary by the Dean of Nursing to accomplish the goals and objectives of the Department of Nursing
Requirements
- Minimum of High School Diploma, College Courses Preferred
- Organizational knowledge of educational institutions
- One year of experience in similar position is preferred
