Position Description
Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $4,047 - $4,211 per month. Full CSU Classification Salary Range: $4,047 - $5,896 per month.
- This is a full-time (40 hours per week), probationary, non-exempt position.
- Area of consideration is limited to on-campus, state funded employees only.
The CSU system provides a comprehensive benefit package that includes medical, dental and vision plans, CalPERS, sick and vacation time, and 15 paid holidays a year. Eligible employees may participate in the fee waiver education program. A summary of benefit information can be found here.
Job SummaryUnder the general supervision of the Dean and Associate Dean of the College, this position provides general administrative functions that are operational and procedural in nature. The incumbent plans and executes a variety of project-oriented activities for the Dean’s Office and coordinates clerical and administrative support functions. Projects involve problems requiring reason and judgment, interpretation of policies, and contact with individuals at all levels of the University and off-campus.
KeyQualifications
- Knowledge of:
- Applicable university infrastructure, policies, and procedures
- Thorough knowledge of English grammar, punctuation, and spelling
- Knowledge of and skill in standard office procedures and practices
- Thorough knowledge of office systems and ability to use a broad range of technology and software (Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, Adobe Acrobat, Zoom)
- Skill/Ability to:
- Interpret and apply policies and procedures independently and use judgment when precedents do not exist
- Clearly communicate orally and in writing; handle interpersonal interactions at all levels and sensitive situations
- Develop highly effective interpersonal skills; work with diverse student, faculty, and staff populations
- Perform standard business math, track financial data, and make simple projections
- Create and maintain program records and provide data for strategy development
- Organize and independently handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced team environment
- Apply complex policies and procedures where guidelines may not exist
- Coordinate multiple projects; draft and compose correspondence and standard reports
- Serve as a resource to students, staff and the community with inquiries about campus news and events

Education and Experience- Minimum education equivalent to an Associate’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- At least 3 years of related experience in an office environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite, Google Suite, Adobe Acrobat, Email and Video Conferencing
- Preferred Skills
- Comparable work experience in a higher education setting
- Experience with campus People Soft modules or comparable software
- CSU System work experience
- Advanced skills in word processing and maintaining electronic spreadsheets
- Ability to prioritize and process multiple tasks
