Job Summary/Purpose
The Information Technology Technician (IT Technician) provides hands‑on technical support and day‑to‑day operational support for the organization’s technology and information systems. This role is essential to keeping the organization running smoothly by ensuring technology systems are stable, secure, and responsive to user needs.
More broadly, the IT Technician supports the day‑to‑day operation, reliability, and availability of the organization’s technology environment. This includes supporting corporate office and retail locations, maintaining core systems, troubleshooting issues, and helping ensure technology enables efficient, uninterrupted business operations. The role also plays an important part in safeguarding company technology assets and data. In some cases, similar support may be provided to affiliated or non‑company entities.
Because the organization operates across multiple, diverse business units, technology needs vary by function and location. As a result, the IT Technician may develop and apply specialized expertise and may be assigned responsibility for supporting specific systems, platforms, or functional areas based on business needs.
The IT Technician will have access to sensitive and confidential information. Maintaining confidentiality, integrity, and appropriate use of this information is a critical responsibility of the role.
Key ResponsibilitiesSkills & Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware, software, and network‑related issues
- Working knowledge of operating systems, including Windows, macOS, and Linux
- Familiarity with core networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP
- Experience using IT support tools, remote access software, and ticketing systems
- Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills applied to day‑to‑day technical issues
- Ability to clearly explain technical concepts and solutions to non‑technical users
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks while collaborating effectively with IT team members
- One‑to‑two years of experience in an IT support or helpdesk environment
- Ability to lift, move, and install computer and related equipment as needed
- Valid driver’s license and motor vehicle record compliant with Beck Supplier’s insurance requirements
- Associate degree in Information Technology or a related field.
- Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or equivalent.
- Microsoft certifications, including Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, or similar credentials.
This position requires the ability to perform a range of physical tasks in varied work environments.
Physical Demands include:Frequent:
- Sitting, talking, hearing, and repetitive use of hands and fingers for computer and equipment operation
- Standing, walking, crawling, and driving
- Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
- Use of hand and foot controls
- Stooping, bending, reaching, and visual observation of equipment and work areas
- Willingness and ability to travel to Friendship stores throughout Ohio
- Occasional overnight stays may be necessary depending on store locations and project needs
- Standard hours:
Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. - On‑Call Rotation: availability for after‑hours support on a rotating basis, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
