Lab Assistant - Laboratory Evenings

Position: Lab Assistant - Laboratory - Full Time - Evenings
* Communicates with physicians and physician staff with courtesy, accuracy and respect for confidentiality.
* Demonstrates ability to handle inquiries about test requirements, preparation and projected turn-around-time.
* Knowledge of result procedures and content so as to help answer physician and staff inquiries.
* Ability to investigate and follow-up with Technologist, Lab Director and/or Pathologist for difficult inquiries by clients.  Assure information is relayed in a complete and timely manner.
* Performs job duties in a manner consistent with organization and departmental safety policies and procedures.
* Completes departmental safety requirements, (i.e., Blitz, departmental in-services, etc.) on an annual basis.
* One year of health care related experience preferred.
* One year medical or laboratory assistant experience preferred.
* Ability to type 35 wpm,
* Ability to completed 10 key
* Knowledge of computers.
* Able to organize and priorities work demands and handle multiple tasks.
* Knowledge of basic phlebotomy, specimen collection, selection, handling and storage activities.
* Must exhibit good customer service skills
* Able to handle stressful situations in a calm and professional manner.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
