The Logistics Technician supports day-to-day logistics and warehouse operations, ensuring high standards for safety, accuracy, productivity, and customer service. This role is responsible for shipping, receiving, inventory control, and material handling activities in a fast-paced warehouse environment. The ideal candidate can work independently, manage multiple tasks, and proactively support operational efficiency while strictly adhering to safety and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Receive, sort, package, palletize, and ship materials and products
- Transfer materials to and from storage locations
- Prepare cylinders for shipment, including labeling, inspection, wrapping, barcode scanning, and pallet loading
- Perform shipping and receiving transactions in ERP systems (SAP HANA)
- Prepare shipping documentation in compliance with company policy and DOT regulations
- Coordinate deliveries and pickups with common carriers and internal locations
- Operate forklifts to load and unload trucks and containers
- Load and unload sea containers following IMO, IMDG, and Customs requirements
- Maintain accurate inventory control records and perform cycle counts
- Assist with field audits, quality checks, and process validation
- Escalate safety or quality concerns promptly
- Maintain a clean, secure, and organized warehouse environment
- Comply with OSHA, MSDS
, and all company safety policies
Skills & Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3+ years of logistics, warehouse, or shipping/receiving experience
- Certified forklift operator
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and roll cylinders weighing up to 200 lbs
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout a warehouse for extended periods
- Ability to climb ladders
- Ability to wear a full-face respirator (must pass medical and physical testing)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong customer service orientation
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Experience with Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides
- Knowledge of 49 CFR, 15 CFR, DOT, IATA, and IMDG regulations
- Ability to follow all safety protocols and work instructions
- Experience using SAP or similar ERP systems
- Experience filing IMO, AES, and ISF documentation
Physical Requirements
- Fast-paced warehouse environment
- Frequent standing, walking, lifting, and manual handling
- Significant manual dexterity for data entry
- Must remain clean-shaven and medically qualified for respirator use
