We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Test Automation Engineer to join a growing Quality Assurance organization. This role is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable automation frameworks that enable continuous delivery, rapid iteration, and high product quality across complex enterprise systems.

You will lead automation initiatives spanning frontend applications, backend services, and cloud-based microservices architectures. The ideal candidate is hands‑on, strategic, and passionate about building robust automation solutions while mentoring teams and driving quality engineering excellence.

Role Overview

The Senior Test Automation Engineer plays a key role in advancing automation strategy and execution. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure quality is embedded throughout the development lifecycle. This role includes framework architecture, CI/CD integration, test strategy ownership, and mentoring distributed QA teams.

Key Responsibilities Automation & Technical Execution
  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks using tools such as Playwright for UI and API automation.
  • Build automated test suites for frontend applications, backend services, and cloud-native microservices.
  • Develop and execute integration tests, end-to-end scenarios, and reliability test suites.
  • Utilize Postman for advanced API testing, scripting, and automation.
  • Leverage modern development tools such as VS Code and Git Hub Copilot to enhance code quality and maintainability.
  • Implement and maintain automation pipelines in Jenkins and integrate test suites into CI/CD workflows.
  • Perform black-box, exploratory, and usability testing for customer-facing applications.
Test Design & Quality Ownership
  • Develop comprehensive test strategies, test plans, and detailed test cases with strong emphasis on coverage and traceability.
  • Review functional requirements and provide feedback to improve testability and quality.
  • Ensure high standards of reliability, scalability, and performance across software releases.
  • Mentor and guide offshore QA automation engineers by providing technical direction and task management.
  • Partner with Software Engineering, Product Management, Dev Ops, and Architecture teams to drive quality initiatives.
  • Maintain clear documentation for automation frameworks, test data management, processes, and results.
  • Present automation progress, quality metrics, and risk assessments to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Drive continuous testing adoption by integrating automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Contribute to process improvements and automated documentation practices.
  • Support defect investigation, root cause analysis, and close collaboration with development teams.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field with 8+ years of experience, or Master’s degree with 6+ years of experience.
  • Proven experience designing and maintaining automation frameworks across UI, API, and distributed systems.
  • Strong hands‑on experience with Playwright (required).
  • Solid API automation experience using Postman, including scripting and collection management.
  • Experience working with VS Code and Git Hub Copilot to enhance productivity.
  • Demonstrated experience building and executing end-to-end test strategies across complex systems.
  • Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, and QA best practices.
  • Experience with CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins, Bamboo, or similar tools.
  • Experience testing applications built on Salesforce, Java Spring Boot, and AWS-based microservices.
  • Proven ability to mentor and lead offshore automation teams.
  • Excellent analytical, debugging, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work onsite at least three days per week and collaborate with global teams.
