• Read/write English; interact with the public and co‑workers.
• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, pricing codes, shelf tags, short correspondence and memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations.
• Apply common sense to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
• Regularly lift up to 25 lb, frequently up to 45 lb, occasionally up to 60 lb.

• Basic PC/Outlook skills.

The Service Clerk reports to the Store Manager/Senior Assistant Manager and is responsible for maintaining carts, assisting customers with purchases, checking prices on products, returning merchandise to store shelves, and helping with parking lot and store maintenance.

• Collect and organize shopping carts within the store and retrieve carts from the parking lot.
• Assist customers with loading merchandise into carts and vehicles.
• Check retail prices on shelf for check stand personnel.
• Pull merchandise from the check stand and return it to the proper shelf; walk aisles to return misplaced items and face merchandise as needed.
• Monitor cleanliness of store entrance: sweep inside and outside, pick up and empty trash, mop outside walkways, and clean entrance/exit doors daily.
• Maintain store cleanliness throughout the day: sweep, mop, clean, and restock restrooms as needed.
