SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Under direct supervision of Purchasing Manager, process and follow up on Out-Process subcontract orders. Work closely with suppliers, technical staff, and program management.

• Prepare and issue detailed, accurate purchase orders for out process subcontractors in compliance with company standards and policy.
• Confirm purchase orders and delivery dates for the PO and update due dates on PO accordingly.
• Maintain follow-up responsibility with suppliers to ensure commitment dates are held
• Provide critical information, and updates to Program Managers and other team members
• Publish and provide daily analysis of PO reports to the team.
• Work with Receiving, Quality, Engineering and Accounting to resolve discrepancies and issues
• Provide professional customer service by responding to planning or supplier inquiries, communicating changes and schedule impacts, and escalate any potential issues to Purchasing Manager
• Keep invoice discrepancies at a minimum and partner with the team, suppliers & Accounts Payable to quickly resolve any that occur.
• Comply with applicable environmental, health and safety laws and regulations, Company policy and accepted safe work practices.

Qualifications:

• 2 years purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience in Contract Manufacturing industries preferred
• Experience utilizing an ERP system, Epicor Vantage or SAP preferred
• Identify parts based on 2D or 3D drawings
• Ability to effectively interface with suppliers via phone, email or in person in a courteous and professional manner
