The Sanmina Fremont facility is a full-service enclosure systems solution manufacturing plant located in California’s Silicon Valley. This facility produces low-to-mid volume New Product Introduction (NPI) runs to full-scale volume, offering capabilities from small piece parts to fully integrated and tested systems, in-house painting, and flexible logistics solutions in distribution, inventory management and hubbing, as well as repair services.
Job DetailsJob Purpose:
Location: Fremont, CA Shift: 1st Shift (6:00 AM – 2:30 PM)
We are seeking a skilled Quality Technician for our first shift to perform precision mechanical inspections on manufactured components. This role requires hands-on experience in CMM operation, manual inspection techniques ("hard checks"), and a deep knowledge of GD&T for inspecting sheet metal, laser cut, and welded parts.
Responsibilities- Conduct first article, incoming, in-process, and final inspections on machined parts, sheet metal, and welded assemblies.
- Perform precise dimensional inspections (hard check) using manual tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges) and CMMs.
- Interpret complex engineering drawings, applying expert knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
- Operate CMMs (Zeiss or Brown & Sharpe or Mitutoyo) to verify parts against specifications.
- Document and report all inspection results and non-conformances accurately in the quality management system.
- Perform receiving inspection on incoming materials and components (raw materials and outside services).
- Experience: Minimum 2-4 years of quality control inspection in a manufacturing environment (sheet metal, machining, welding, assemblies).
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification is a plus.
- Blueprint & GD&T: Good level in reading engineering drawings and applying GD&T principles.
- Manual Inspection: Proficient with surface plate inspection and all standard hand-held measuring tools.
- CMM Operation: Hands-on experience is required. Preference for experience with Zeiss (Calypso) or Brown & Sharpe (PC-DMIS), or Mitutoyo (MCOSMOS). CMM programming is a plus, not required.

Strong attention to detail, clear and good communication (

), computer proficiency (MS Office), and the ability to work independently.
- Must possess visual acuity and manual dexterity.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.

Salary Range (annual): $58,240 -$62,400 ($28.00 - $30.00 per hour). Actual base pay within this range (determined at the offer stage) will be based on a candidate's years of relevant work experience, education, certifications, and skills, and is just one element of our total rewards package. The total rewards package also includes health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business and, depending on the role, may include eligibility for restricted stock unit awards and participation in a discretionary bonus program.
