Production Manager
Supervisor, Production - Food Manufacturing job at US1224 Newport Meat Northern California, Inc.. Fremont, CA.
The production supervisor is responsible for the planning, scheduling and directing the work efforts of the production operations department of the facility in an effort to meet and/or exceed productivity, safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals, and ensure the department operates according to established company policies and procedures. Grind and Marinating process.
Schedule:
6am - Finish - Monday - Friday with occasional Saturday.
Responsibilities include directing, coordinating and monitoring daily activities and performance of production direct and indirect associates to assure delivery of high productivity, quality, customer service and compliance of standard company policies, procedures, and safety; managing employee performance through motivation, delegation, development, mentoring and resolving conflict; conducting regular department or pre-shift meetings; participating in staff selection, performance and compensation evaluations, corrective action and terminations;
evaluating and interpreting business demand, prioritizing and distributing daily work assignments; establishing line assignment and staffing; determining and monitoring work station assignments/rotation, associate breaks and required overtime; meeting production goals, quality and cost objectives; monitoring and maintaining inventory levels using a warehouse management system (WMS); reviewing and recording all production documentation; participating in lean principles implementation using 5S, Kaizen, and Kanban methods;
providing and maintaining a safe work environment by directing safety training, generating and reviewing SOPs; coordinating with safety department for training, observations, accident investigations and safety inspections.
Qualifications include high school diploma or equivalent, 3-5 years of food manufacturing experience (raw meat grind and marinating process preferred), excellent communication skills, ability to read and interpret business and technical documents, effective presentation and training skills, problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities, proficiency in MS Office and warehouse management software.
Physical demands include sitting, standing, walking, use of hands, reaching, climbing, lifting up to 20 pounds, and specific vision abilities. Work environment is manufacturing and warehouse with exposure to various conditions and requires use of PPE. Travel may be required. Position may require evening, weekend or other shift work.
