Sr. Maintenance Technician

Overview

Job Location: Vishay Applied Thin Film Products is in Fremont, CA.

Reports To: Facilities Manager

Pay Range: $36.05 - $41.83/hour

• Perform routine preventative and corrective maintenance
• Responsible for the optimal functioning of all equipment on premises
• Modify equipment and troubleshoot malfunctions of equipment
• Check and manage chemical levels of all systems
• Monitor motor controls and change drive belts
• Monitor wastewater system and make repairs
• Maintain and update maintenance records and data files
• Support the building facilities manager as necessary
• Create special-purpose machines at instruction of engineers
• Record corrective actions and upgrades
• May be required to perform other duties

• High School diploma or equivalent. Technical school/Associate degree a plus
• 2-4 years of experience
• Working weekends, evenings and other overtime is a requirement
• Background in technical machine work, troubleshoot
• Ability to read electrical schematics and drawings and follow written instructions
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Must have experience in the use of hand tools, power tools
• Ability to learn electrical, plumbing, air conditioning and other mechanical skills
• Must have current California driver’s license
• Computer skills, data entry experience and working knowledge of Word, Excel
• Proficient in English. Good written and verbal communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and team orientation, with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of people
• Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
• Able to prioritize job flows, schedule and manage time efficiently
• Strong problem solving and multi-tasking abilities
• Well organized and able to work independently

Work is performed primarily in an office/lab environment; adheres to required safety and dress standards to prevent exposure to hazardous materials. Duties may require sitting, standing, walking for periods, bending, stooping, and twisting. May involve repetitive fine grasping motions and use of small hand tools. May lift 25 to 50 pounds, operate a computer and enter information, use a telephone, and other office equipment for extended periods.

Some visual inspection duties may be required with close, peripheral, and depth vision. Some physical strength and stamina are required for regular cleaning duties. May be exposed to hot/cold conditions, high-volume noise, stored energy hazards (electricity, compressed gases, etc.), and hazardous materials such as chemicals or solvents.

May be requested to work overtime and weekends to suit operational needs.
