What To Expect
As an engineer on the Supply Chain Data team you will build solutions that make a real-world impact ensuring Tesla's global operations run smoothly. You’ll play a key role in shaping the future of our supply chain operations by designing scalable, automated, and intelligent data systems, partnering directly with business and operations teams.
We’re looking for a hands-on engineer who thrives on solving complex problems, leading projects end-to-end, and turning raw data into actionable insights that power smarter decisions. We work with modern data stacks & have the freedom to experiment with cutting-edge tools in our workflows, seeing how they can drive overall efficiency in our processes.
What You'll Do
- Design and implement automated data solutions that empower teams across Demand Planning, MRP, Purchasing, Logistics, Inventory, and Payables
- Take ideas from design to production, working hand-in-hand with stakeholders and cross-functional teams
- Develop, manage, and optimize high-performance ETL pipelines that transform complex datasets into clean, reliable, and accessible information
- Create and refine dimensional data models (e.g., star schema) that enable powerful reporting and analytics
- Write and optimize scripts, processes, and jobs to streamline data operations and eliminate bottlenecks
- Explore new tools, frameworks, and real-time processing technologies to keep our data platform cutting-edge
- Collaborate with compliance teams to maintain SOX standards and champion best practices in coding, documentation, and technical quality
- Deep SQL expertise and mastery of relational databases (SQL Server, MySQL, Vertica, etc.)
- Hands-on experience in data warehousing and dimensional modeling for large-scale systems
- Strong programming skills in Python or Java
- Familiarity with distributed systems (Kafka, Spark, Iceberg) and No
SQL/document databases (Mongo
DB) - Knowledge of ETL orchestration tools (Airflow, Luigi, etc.) and visualization platforms (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, SSRS)
- Excellent communication skills to translate complex data solutions into business impact
- Background in supply chain is a plus, but curiosity and a passion for solving real-world problems matter most
