Clinical Lab Associate 1 - Histology, 3rd Shift

At Personalis, we are transforming cancer management through breakthrough personalized testing. We aim to drive a new paradigm for cancer care, guiding patients with advanced genomic profiling, minimal residual disease detection, and targeted therapy selection.

• Support the Histopathology Team:
  Prepare FFPE samples for microscopic evaluation—microtomy, H&E staining, cover slipping.
• Maintain and operate laboratory instruments and digital slide imaging. Perform image quality control and transfer images to the pathology team.
• Assist the Extractions Team with DNA/RNA extraction from fixed tissue, frozen tissue, blood, saliva, and other sample types.
• Perform quality control of extracted nucleic acids, manage sample storage, and transfer data to the Library Prep Team.
• Escalate issues to a supervisor when sample processing problems arise.
• Procure appropriate supplies and equipment to maximize department efficiency and meet quality goals.
• Document corrective actions when test systems deviate from established performance specifications.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• BA/BS in a biological discipline.
• 0–2+ years of laboratory technician experience; experience with histology equipment is a plus.
• Excellent organization and communication skills.
• Strong desire to work in a demanding, high‑energy, hands‑on environment.
• Ability to work within a team.
• Physical demands: stooping, turning, bending, squatting, kneeling, and lifting up to 25 lbs.

The hiring range is $28–$31 per hour. This shift is eligible for a shift differential pay bonus. Base pay will consider internal equity and geographic region. Full‑time positions include an annual performance‑based bonus, long‑term incentive units, and a comprehensive benefits package.
