Job Description & How to Apply Below

Industrial Engineers design, analyze, and optimize manufacturing systems, processes, and workflows to improve efficiency, productivity, quality, and cost performance. At Level 2, the Industrial Engineer independently executes most assigned work, drives analysis and recommendations, and supports production planning and optimization initiatives with minimal supervision. This role builds on foundational engineering skills and contributes actively to cross-functional decision-making while providing guidance to entry-level engineers.

The Industrial Engineering team plays a critical role in preparing manufacturing operations for successful execution once customer commitments are confirmed. The team works closely with Facilities and manufacturing teams to plan and establish production layouts, equipment placement, tooling, and supporting infrastructure, ensuring production lines are designed for efficiency, safety, scalability, and cost effectiveness.

Duties/Responsibilities
  • Independently develop and execute pre-manufacturing planning activities, including production system design, process flow definition, and workflow analysis based on volume, schedule, and quality requirements.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Facilities, Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Production teams to drive production readiness and resolve planning or execution gaps.
  • Analyze manufacturing performance data to identify bottlenecks, waste, and inefficiencies, and implement or recommend process improvements to enhance throughput and productivity.
  • Apply industrial engineering methodologies such as ergonomics, time studies, line balancing, and capacity analysis to optimize workstation layouts, manpower allocation, and material flow.
  • Lead detailed production layout planning for new or modified production lines, defining equipment placement, logistics paths, and operational configurations that support efficient manufacturing execution.
  • Provide required headcount for each process flow to the production team based on the operation cycle time per station, ensuring smooth and consistent output.
  • Develop rework cost estimates for potential rework scenarios and provide cost inputs to the Program Management team to support planning and customer discussions when rework is requested.
  • Conduct manufacturing capacity simulations using available manpower and equipment data, and provide capacity commitments and planning recommendations aligned with demand forecasts.
  • Support production line adjustments or reconfigurations by analyzing impacts to capacity, efficiency, and cost.
  • Prepare and present clear documentation, reports, and data summaries for engineering reviews, management discussions, and cross-functional alignment.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance and technical support to Level 1 Industrial Engineers, reviewing work for accuracy and supporting skill development.
  • Proactively identify continuous improvement opportunities and support the implementation of best practices across manufacturing operations.
Required Skills/Abilities
  • Solid working knowledge of industrial engineering principles, including process optimization, ergonomics, line balancing, capacity planning, and facility layout.
  • Practical understanding of production and operations management and the application of Lean manufacturing principles in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret manufacturing data and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple priorities and deliverables.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills for working across engineering, operations, and support teams.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools (e.g., Excel) with strong attention to documentation and detail.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related engineering discipline required.
  • 2–5 years of relevant experience in industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, or operations optimization.
  • Experience supporting production planning, capacity analysis, or manufacturing optimization in a production environment preferred.
