Description
Responsibilities:
- Collaborating with the hardware team to brainstorm and fast-pace prototype new ideas and concepts.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams including software engineers, electrical engineers, and industrial designers to design the next generation hardware for the Pixmo robot.
- Supporting the assembly, testing, and validation of robotic prototypes and products. Instructing technicians/lab workers to optimize workload.
- Assisting in the analysis and optimization of mechanical designs for performance, durability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Participating in design reviews and providing feedback on mechanical designs.
- Documenting design iterations, test results, and project progress.
- Investigating and troubleshooting issues of the robotics system. Develop and implement targeted solutions as well as documentation to reduce potential failures in future.
- Consistently demonstrate a high level of craftsmanship in all engineering projects, ensuring that every design, part, and assembly is completed to exact specifications.
- Sharing your knowledge and skills with your teammates, fostering a culture of collaboration, learning, and growth.
- Currently pursing or holding a degree in fields such as Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or equivalent. 1+ year of industry experience.
- Hands-on experience with prototyping tools and shop equipment, including 3D printers, power tools, and hand tools.
- Mentality for fast prototyping and testing.
- Previous experience of mechanical design, drawings (Solid Works), GD&T, building and integration of robotic platforms. Robot manipulation experience is a plus.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes such as sheet-metal, weldment, machining.
- Highly motivated teammate with excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Enjoy working in a fast-paced, collaborative, and dynamic start-up environment as part of a small team.
- Work on a full-time schedule at our office in Fremont.
- Open for regular short onsite visits and for extended onsite visits during feature delivery.
