We are seeking a Field Applications Engineer (FAE) to provide technical support and solutions for our optical transceivers within the data center market in the United States. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in optical networking, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate with customers, sales teams, and product management to drive technical success.
Key Responsibilities- Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical support to customers, including hyperscale cloud providers, colocation facilities, and enterprise data centers
. - Work closely with sales teams to understand customer requirements and recommend optimal solutions.
- Conduct technical presentations, product demonstrations, and training sessions for customers and partners.
- Assist customers with design, integration, troubleshooting, and testing of optical transceivers and high-speed interconnects.
- Collaborate with engineering and product management teams to communicate customer feedback and influence product development.
- Stay up-to-date with industry standards, protocols, and emerging technologies in optical networking.
- Support lab evaluations, proof-of-concept trials, and interoperability testing at customer sites.
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences
. - Travel 30-50% within the United States as required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (Master’s is a plus).
- 5+ years of experience in field applications engineering, technical support, or product engineering in optical networking.
- Strong understanding of optical transceivers (SFP, QSFP, OSFP, etc.), AOC/DAC cables, and high-speed interconnects
. - Experience with Ethernet, Infini Band, PCIe, and data center networking architectures
. - Hands-on experience with optical and electrical test equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, BER testers, spectrum analyzers).
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and presentation abilities, with the ability to explain complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
