This role focuses on end-to-end solution engineering, covering system concept development, detailed design, validation, installation, and operational support to ensure reliable thermal performance.
Working closely with Facilities, IT, Engineering, and customer-facing teams, the Liquid Cooling Solution Engineer applies expertise in heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and cooling system integration to deliver scalable and efficient thermal solutions. This position supports both deployment execution and continuous improvement through analysis, troubleshooting, and field feedback.
Duties/Responsibilities- Design and engineer liquid cooling solutions, including direct-to-chip cooling, immersion cooling, rear-door heat exchangers, and CDU-based systems.
- Perform thermal, hydraulic, and mechanical analyses to validate cooling system performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Develop system architectures, schematics, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and technical documentation to support deployment and operation.
- Collaborate with Facilities, IT, hardware, and customer teams to ensure cooling solutions integrate effectively with infrastructure and computing systems.
- Support installation, commissioning, and validation of liquid cooling systems, ensuring designs meet performance and safety requirements.
- Troubleshoot thermal and system performance issues, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
- Support customer engagements by providing technical consultation, solution designs, and presentations as needed.
- Stay current on industry standards, emerging liquid cooling technologies, and best practices to inform design and deployment decisions.
- Provide field feedback and design recommendations to support ongoing product and solution improvements.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including design specifications, simulation results, testing reports, and performance summaries.
- Strong understanding of heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and thermodynamics as applied to liquid cooling systems.
- Hands-on experience with liquid cooling components such as internal manifolds, quick disconnects, CDUs, heat exchangers, and thermal interface materials.
- Ability to perform thermal and hydraulic analysis and interpret simulation or test results.
- Proficiency in reading, creating, and reviewing technical drawings, schematics, and system layouts.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a practical, solution-oriented mindset.
- Effective communication skills for working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks across design, deployment, and operational support activities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- 1–3 years of experience in liquid cooling, thermal management, data center infrastructure, or related engineering roles.
- Experience with thermal simulation tools and performance analysis methods preferred.
- Exposure to high-density computing, server systems, or manufacturing environments is a plus.
