Your Role and Responsibilities

In this role, you will play a key part in enhancing Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) performance within your assigned area, fostering a collaborative culture with a strong focus on HSE. You will support the business by leveraging your extensive HSE knowledge to provide solutions and guidance. Your expertise will be vital in ensuring effective risk management through robust HSE practices throughout the ABB value chain.

This position is onsite and contributes to the Process Automation in the Energy division within the India Region.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Implementing policies, standards, and ensuring compliance with audit programs.

  • Assisting line managers and supervisors in understanding and fulfilling their HSE obligations in line with local laws and ABB policies.

  • Reporting progress on ABB Group Sustainability goals and key performance indicators (KPIs) to the Business HSE Manager.

  • Conducting and facilitating HSE risk assessments with site teams, ensuring all processes are effectively implemented.

  • Promoting behavioral changes by coordinating Group-wide performance improvement programs and fostering an HSE culture.

  • Ensuring the proper availability and use of safety equipment and tools, as well as delivering training programs.

  • Engaging stakeholders and business partners to increase HSE awareness, involvement, and overall performance.

Qualifications for the Role

  • Extensive expertise in HSE management, risk assessment, and compliance with industry and legal standards.

  • 8 to 10 years of experience in HSE management and systems, with a strong background in managing stakeholder engagement and facilitating training.

  • B.E. /

    B. Tech (Mechanical/Electrical) from a reputable university, along with a Diploma in Industrial Safety or NEBOSH-IGC Diploma.

  • Proven ability to coordinate and engage in all aspects of HSE management, including incident investigations and performance tracking.

  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), with the ability to collaborate across teams and drive behavioral change.

  • Practical experience in implementing an HSE culture, ensuring proper safety equipment use, and participating in performance improvement programs.
