• Perform data‑driven root‑cause analysis and reliability modeling to provide actionable recommendations to epitaxy and fabrication teams for improving device reliability.
• Document process excursions, failure signatures/symptoms, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Conduct device reliability failure analysis to classify failure modes and establish failure Pareto in lot qualification and various reliability tests.
• Support fab process engineering with microstructure analysis using existing tools and external service labs.
• Innovate and employ new analytical tools, equipment, and methodologies.
• Compare laser chip vs integrated product reliability lifetimes and major failure modes to identify and fill gaps.
• Collaborate with FA engineers for physical failure analysis to identify weak points and prevent potential failures based on device physics and semiconductor processing knowledge.
• Develop new FA tools and metrology in partnership with service labs and in‑house teams.

• Graduate degree in Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, or a related physical science discipline.
• 8 years of experience in reliability engineering, preferably with laser diodes, LEDs, photonic integrated circuits (PICs), or other III‑V optoelectronic devices.
• Expertise in reliability physics, failure mechanisms, statistical modeling, and qualification testing.
• Understanding of fab processing and/or device physics.
• Proficiency in characterization techniques such as LIV, spectral, thermal, optical, and power measurements.
• Experience with FA tools including SEM, FIB, and related equipment.
• Proficiency with data analysis tools (JMP, Python, MATLAB, Minitab, or similar).
• Knowledge of document control processes such as FMEA, SOP, and CAPA.
• Excellent communication and cross‑functional leadership skills.

Full‑time base salary range: $182,750 to $215,000 per annum. Pay is determined by location, experience, and qualifications. Contact the recruiter for more details.
