Overview
Molex is seeking a highly skilled and innovative Systems Integration Engineer who will validate interoperability of Molex copper interconnect products within network switches, servers, and storage systems. The role ensures seamless integration across multiple platforms and vendors, supporting high‑speed data center and enterprise networking applications. The engineer collaborates across design centers and manufacturing plants, supporting both NPD and production environments.
Responsibilities- Set up and configure test environments with switches, servers, NICs, and Molex high‑speed cable assemblies (DAC, ACC, AEC) for internal and external stakeholders.
- Validate link bring‑up, firmware compatibility, and interoperability across multi‑vendor ecosystems.
- Conduct throughput, latency, and error recovery tests on high‑speed cable assemblies using traffic generators and protocol analyzers.
- Perform characterization and validation of high‑speed connectors and cable assemblies using VNA, TDR, BERT, and other advanced measurement equipment against IEEE, OIF, MSA, and other standards.
- Document and analyze test results, identifying root causes of failures.
- Ensure adherence to industry standards such as IEEE, PCIe, Fibre Channel, and MSA specifications.
- Participate in industry interoperability events and plug‑fest events as needed.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including design, manufacturing, quality, and sourcing to align lab measurement equipment capability with the product development roadmap.
- Mentor junior engineers and technicians, providing technical leadership and guidance.
- Drive continuous improvement in test methodologies, automation frameworks, and data analytics.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- Experience in system integration, network testing, or hardware validation.
- Proficiency in Linux/Windows, scripting languages (Python/Bash) for test automation and data analytics.
- Strong knowledge of Ethernet, PCIe, Fibre Channel, Infini Band protocols.
- Exceptional communication skills with ability to translate complex concepts into actionable strategies.
- Strong relationship‑building skills focused on customer needs and commitment to superior results.
- Advanced problem‑solving abilities, including Design of Experiment and statistical analysis knowledge.
- Effective collaboration across multiple departments and regions.
- Willingness to travel up to 10%.
- Fluent in English.
Anticipated base salary $170,000 – $200,000 per year. Eligible for variable pay, including monetary bonus or other form.
