Position DescriptionWe are building a pool of qualified applicants for temporary part‑time teaching assignments, including day, evening, weekend courses in‑person, online, or hybrid. Assignments will be filled on an as‑needed basis. Applicants remain in the pool for two years.
Duties and Responsibilities- Teach Digital Arts and Interactive Design in line with post‑secondary course outlines.
- Evaluate student work against clear criteria and provide timely feedback.
- Maintain accurate records (grades, syllabi, attendance reports) and submit them by published deadlines.
- Create an equity‑based, welcoming classroom environment.
- Perform duties as described in Board policy, the United Faculty of Ohlone contact, the Faculty Handbook, and assigned locations (Fremont Campus, Newark Center, eCampus).
- Any bachelor’s degree and two years of professional experience, OR an associate degree and six years of experience; or the equivalent.
- Commitment to equity‑based, anti‑racist community‑college goals.
- Evidence of responsiveness to diverse student backgrounds, including disability, socioeconomic status, culture, gender identity, and sexual orientation.
- Environmental sustainability awareness (certificate not required).
- Teaching experience at the community‑college level (desired).
- Intermediate to expert knowledge of HTML5 and CSS.
- Intermediate JavaScript proficiency.
UX/UI design practices (wire framing, prototyping). - Experience with Visual Studio Code or other code editors.
- Experience with FTP programs.
- Use of innovative student engagement methods.
- Creation of equity‑based syllabi and inclusive materials.
- Experience working with African American, Latinx, Native American, and other minoritized students.
- Experience with learning management systems (Blackboard, Canvas, etc.).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Team‑work ability.

- Unofficial copies of all college transcripts (official sealed transcripts required at hire).
