Overview
The Senior Director of Corporate Development will serve as a key leader in Nextpower’s growth strategy, responsible for managing the full lifecycle of mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, and strategic investments. This individual will work cross-functionally with executive leadership, finance, legal, product, engineering, and operations teams to identify, evaluate, and execute inorganic growth opportunities.
This is a high-visibility, high-impact role ideal for an experienced dealmaker with strong analytical, transactional, and cross-functional leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities- Contribute to the development of the company’s inorganic growth strategy in alignment with long-term corporate objectives
- Proactively source, screen, and cultivate relationships with potential acquisition targets, investment opportunities, and strategic partners
- Identify and quantify opportunities associated with emerging technologies, adjacent markets, and potential expansion vectors
- Lead financial modeling, valuation analyses, and scenario planning for potential transactions
- Conduct rigorous assessments of target financials, industry dynamics, synergies, and integration requirements
- Prepare and deliver data-driven recommendations to senior leadership and the Board
- Manage the end-to-end M&A process from initial evaluation to closing
- Suggest and implement M&A process improvements
- Structure transactions and negotiate key commercial terms in collaboration with executive leadership
- Coordinate and oversee cross-functional due diligence, including key functional work streams (financial, legal, operational, commercial, technical, HR, etc.)
- Serve as the primary interface with internal and external legal counsel
- Support the drafting, review, and negotiation of term sheets, letters of intent, purchase agreements, and ancillary documentation
- Ensure alignment across internal stakeholders on deal structure, terms, and post-close requirements
- Refine financial models throughout diligence process and support transition to operating business plans
- Partner with integration management office, business unit leaders, finance, and operations on integration planning
- Support post-transaction performance monitoring and ensure realization of strategic and financial objectives
- Communicate effectively with executive leadership regarding pipeline, deal progress, and strategic insights
- Mentor and develop junior team members; contribute to building a world-class corporate development function
