Leadership:
Providing general oversight and support for day-to-day operations.
Provide oversight of Control Room Operations during a 12-hour shift
Ensuring Operator compliance with all company policies and operating procedures.
Ensuring proper actions are taken and notifications are made when emergencies occur.
Responsible for providing analysis and investigation of abnormal operations.
Reviewing, developing, and modifying operating and emergency procedures as needed for safe and reliable operations.
Responsible for the implementation of processes and procedures.
Encouraging a cohesive team environment through coaching and support of individual and company goals.
Providing assistance, direction and coaching to Operators.
Responsible for Operator Qualification as required by regulatory and company procedures.
Maintain protection of the environment and the health and safety of our employees, customers, and the communities in which we operate and/or transport our products as our highest priority.
Responsible for the safe and efficient cargo transfer operation of pipelines and related equipment
Maintain log of readings, lab results, shift production requirements and equipment issues to record daily activity and provide for adequate shift relief
Remotely starting/stopping pumps and operating valves.
Monitoring and controlling the movement of material through multiple pipelines and/or facilities.
Analyzing changing conditions and alarms and making necessary adjustments.
Determining accurate pipeline events (pumping, deliveries, nominations, etc.) by reviewing batch listings and schedules. While monitoring tank storage levels.
Must be able to quickly detect abnormal operations, use critical judgement and react accordingly in a short period of time.
Monitoring pipeline integrity and coordinating pipeline maintenance.
Maintaining communication with field personnel, customers, and suppliers to maximize efficiency, safety, quality, and customer service.
Perform operations and troubleshooting on equipment related to terminal functions and pipeline operations including pumps, valves, automated equipment, pigging etc.
Conduct routine operating inspections of the unit, troubleshoot operational problems, and respond to area emergencies or to changing operational situations
Manually regulate or shut down equipment during emergencies, as directed by supervisory personnel
Notifies supervision, maintenance, engineering, and other auxiliary personnel to correct equipment malfunctions and troubleshooting process issues as needed
Issue work permits to ensure the safe performance of maintenance activities and other work in area of responsibility
Initiate work requests, perform minor maintenance within capabilities and prepare equipment for maintenance
Prepare equipment for maintenance work such as locking out equipment, preparing permits and verifying equipment
Assumes accountability for meeting terminal safety goals and various other requirements including training, work permits, critical items inspections, job observations, housekeeping, reporting hazards and issues, and working safely in job assignments
Actively participates in EHOT's, Health, Environmental, Safety, and Security (HESS) programs to ensure a safe and environmentally sound workplace
Perform relief coverage of all other areas of qualification as needed
Perform any other type of terminal function as trained and instructed by the supervisor
Required:
Minimal field operations experience
Proficiency in mechanical reasoning with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Ability to work a rotating shift; weekends; holidays; overtime; and respond to callouts
Ability and willingness to serve as member of Emergency Response Team
Ability to read, write and speak clearly in English
Excellent verbal communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work as part of a team
Must possess valid driver's license
Preferred:
Experience with pipeline operations and pipeline control systems
Process Technology Degree
