Overview
Safety First Group is recruiting for a Lead I and E Technician to support industrial plant operations in Freeport, Texas.
This role leads the I and E Technicians and Electricians day to day, keeps work on schedule, and provides updates and guidance to the Plant Superintendent as needed.
Responsibilities- Lead I and E Technicians and Electricians daily and ensure work stays on schedule
- Assign, monitor, and review work for accuracy and daily progress
- Promote a safe work environment and recommend improvements
- Assist with the weekly I and E maintenance schedule aligned with operational needs
- Drive weekly performance tied to schedule attainment and planned versus unplanned work
- Sustain the I and E maintenance backlog at two weeks
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, policies, and schedules
- Recommend actions to control maintenance cost and quality
- Evaluate performance and recommend improvements or corrective action as needed
- Coordinate with all departments to ensure repairs are completed by priority
- Monitor equipment condition daily and drive timely correction
- Train and coach technicians to troubleshoot and repair equipment properly and on time
- Partner with Engineering as needed to improve the production process
- Conduct weekly and monthly safety meetings
- Program, repair, and calibrate electrical equipment
- Other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent required, technical or vocational training highly preferred
- Minimum five years progressive experience, manufacturing facility experience preferred
- Ability to understand process flow diagrams and P and IDs
- Ability to write technical procedures, policies, and reports
- Ability to work outdoors for extended periods of time
- Excellent communication skills
Plant environment with outdoor work in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, wind, and precipitation. Work may be performed in tight or confined spaces with required PPE. Exposure may include dust, noise, odors, chemicals, and fumes. Nights, weekends, and holidays may be required.
Physical requirements and screeningPush, pull, and lift at least 50 pounds. Sit at a desk and use a computer for extended periods. Stand, sit, walk, reach, bend, squat, kneel, and climb stairs or ladders as needed. Must be able to pass respirator fit testing and an employment physical including a drug and alcohol test. PPE required.
