GHR Healthcare - PH Division is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Freeport, Illinois.

Acute Care – Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 8 beds - Employment Type:
Travel Contract (Travel Nurse) - Contract Duration: 13 weeks (March 1, 2026 – May 31, 2026)
- Shift: 12‑hour nights (7:00 pm – 7:00 am), every other weekend & holiday rotation
- Guaranteed
Hours:
36 hours per week - Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,250 – $2,370 (competitive pay for travel nurses)
- Charting System: MEDITECH (experience with MEDITECH a plus)
- Scrub Color:
Any professional color - Department Orientation: 2 × 12‑hour shifts with documentation resource
- Active Illinois RN license (required at submission)
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU / critical care RN experience (ICU RN, critical care nurse)
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
- Experience running Code Blue / Code Command preferred (code team experience)
- Phlebotomy skills and prior travel nursing experience highly preferred
- Comfortable titrating and mixing critical care drips (e.g., Levo, Neo, Propofol, Fentanyl, Precedex, Insulin, TNK)
- Ability to interpret and document telemetry strips independently (no monitor tech support)
- Familiarity with MEDITECH charting is a plus
- All previous employment at any FHN Memorial location must be disclosed upon submission
- Deliver comprehensive primary nursing care to critically ill patients in an 8‑bed ICU
- Manage nurse‑to‑patient ratio of 1:2–3, with some lower‑acuity patients
- Care for patients with common ICU diagnoses: sepsis, stroke (TNK), DKA, pneumonia, ETOH withdrawal, post‑cath recovery (radial/femoral sites), and more
- Respond to and run codes as part of the ICU team, with support from other ICU and tele nurses
- Titrate and mix critical care medications as ordered and document per protocol
- Collaborate with hospitalists, intensivists, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Float as needed to Med Surg, Telemetry, and ER units, taking a full patient load and providing comprehensive patient care as required
- Participate in department‑specific orientation and ongoing professional development (continuing education for ICU nurses)
