Job Details- Location: Freeport, IL 61032 (Freeport, Illinois)
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $2130-$2250/week
- Position: Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) / Telemetry Nurse – Travel
- Unit: Telemetry (18 beds) — cardiac telemetry & stroke care
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratios: Days: 4-5 patients per nurse;
Nights: 5-6 patients per nurse - Contract Duration: 13 weeks (2/27/2026 – 5/29/2026)
- Shift: 12-hour days (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM), every other weekend required
- Hours: 36 hours per week (guaranteed)
- Holiday Rotation: Required
- Orientation: 2 x 12-hour shifts
- Employment Type: Travel Nursing Job / Travel Contract
- Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license (required to submit)
- BLS and ACLS certifications (current)
- NIHSS certification (required)
- At least 2 years recent Telemetry RN experience;
Cath lab post-recovery and stroke care highly preferred - Experience with drip management (Cardizem, Amio, Dopamine, Heparin titration)
- Phlebotomy skills are a plus
- Familiarity with MEDITECH charting system is a plus
- All travelers with prior employment at any FHN Memorial location must disclose it for DNU check
- Provide high-quality nursing care for telemetry patients with diagnoses such as stroke, CHF, ACS, CAD, post-heart cath, and arrhythmias
- Continuous cardiac telemetry monitoring and accurate interpretation of telemetry strips; sign off on strips as required
- Manage and titrate Heparin drips according to orders; set and monitor Cardizem, Amiodarone, and Dopamine drips as ordered (no titration required for these)
- Collaborate with monitor techs and CNAs in acuity-based staffing
- Float to ICU, Medical-Surgical, and Emergency Department units as needed within scope of practice
- Utilize and troubleshoot respiratory support equipment including BiPAP and High Flow
- Maintain accurate documentation using MEDITECH and ensure timely charting
- Participate in required holiday and weekend rotations
