SALARY:
The hourly rate for this position is $20.00.This position is limited to a maximum of 35 hours per week, not to exceed 944 hours in a fiscal year.

Interns would be required to work a minimum of 10 hours per week.

The Monmouth Vicinage is seeking college students with strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills for a paid internship opportunity within the court system. This internship provides hands‑on experience in judicial operations and public administration while supporting court proceedings and services.

Interns will perform a variety of clerical, administrative, and customer service duties in connection with matters instituted before the Court. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, data entry, database research, document processing, filing, scanning, photocopying, and assisting court staff and members of the public. Interns will gain broad exposure to court processes, case management, and the overall structure of the judiciary.

Internship placements may be available in the following divisions:

  • Criminal

  • Civil

  • Family

  • Court Administration Interns assigned to Court Administration may assist with customer service, outreach, and special projects, including community and employee engagement. These projects may require skills or experience in creating visual displays, developing PowerPoint presentations, and using visual or presentation software. Strong written and verbal communication skills, research abilities, and attention to detail are highly valued. Students with academic interests in communications, graphic or visual arts, history, political science or related fields may find this assignment particularly beneficial.
    Example of Duties Regular and predictable physical presence at the worksite is an essential function of this position.

  • Assist with answering phones, returning phone calls, and receiving and distributing voicemails

  • Contact and follow up with applicants and/or members of the public

  • Perform special projects

  • Conduct research and analysis

  • Perform computer related work

  • Collect and entering data

  • Provide customer service

  • Draft correspondence and memos

  • Attend community planning meetings

  • Organizing and scanning of paper files, upload into an electronic filing system

  • Assist staff and perform other duties as directed

Qualifications

Thirty credit hours from an accredited college or university pursuing a degree. Unofficial College or University transcript must be included in your application in order to be considered.

Supplemental Information

Physical Ability:
For some positions, applicants must have the ability to perform work which requires climbing and prolonged standing, stretching, bending and reaching. The selected candidate must be able to frequently lift and carry supplies weighing from 30 to 50 pounds and, occasionally, materials weighing up to 75 pounds. Driver’s License:
