Municipal Engineer

Position Overview
The City of Saint John is seeking qualified applicants for the position of  Municipal Engineer - Infrastructure Development  with the City’s One Stop Development Shop. The incumbent will be responsible for reviewing and approving municipal servicing plans, drainage systems, and utility installations for the full range of new development. Additionally, the incumbent will provide client‑focused, quality, cost‑effective professional engineering support and project management related to the construction, operation, and maintenance of water, wastewater, storm drainage and transportation systems, including the sustainability of municipal infrastructure.

You will be part of a technical team responsible for formulating engineering solutions, providing direction to technical support staff, engineering consultants, developers, and contractors while supervising municipal development.

Essential Qualifications

Professional Engineer and eligible for registration with APEGNB.

University degree in Civil Engineering.

Demonstrated leadership ability and excellent interpersonal and client‑focused skills.

Experience in a construction, consulting, or municipal engineering environment.

Ability to work effectively with a technical team and external stakeholders.

The successful applicant may be eligible to participate in a Flexible Time Options Program which includes the option of working a 4 or 5‑day work week, subject to business requirements.
