Mobile Diesel Mechanic

Overview

Excel Truck Group is seeking an experienced Mobile Diesel Mechanic to join our 1st shift team in Fredericksburg, VA. This role is responsible for performing scheduled work at customers' locations.

Up to a $3,000 sign-on bonus available based on experience.

• Diagnoses mechanical problems; performs regular maintenance and light to heavy repairs for trucks, including brakes, transmissions, rear-ends, clutches, hydraulic systems, valves, pumps and electrical problems, and engine repairs.
• Performs repairs and/or scheduled maintenance as a mobile technician at customers' locations.
• Ideally certified to perform State Inspections and CDL.
• Work independently; diagnose and repair on the roadside and/or not at our dealership.
• Prepare work orders for repairs and work closely with Parts to ensure an efficient repair.
• Promotes cooperation and teamwork.
• Willing to train and maintain certifications necessary as part of ongoing technician training and development.

• Must have your own tools.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• Experience as a diesel truck mechanic is required or strongly preferred; certifications are a plus and completion of a diesel technician school and certification is desired.
• Experience with Freightliner, Mack, Sterling, Caterpillar, Detroit Diesel, and/or Cummins is ideal but not required.
• Ability to operate with minimal supervision and maintain certifications through ongoing training.

• Compensation: Industry-leading pay ($75,000 to $95,000+/yr based on experience and performance) with up to a $3,000 sign-on bonus for well-qualified mechanics.
